Sam Bankman-Fried and Gary Wang opened FTX in 2019. The company was incorporated in Antigua and Barbuda and ran from the Bahamas. By July 2021 it had more than a million users and a private valuation around $32 billion. The product was futures, and a spot book beside them. FTX.US was a separate site for Americans.
